SDI's Lektrox Moves Forward with US Department of Defense

TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 07/16/08 -- Security Devices International Inc. (OTCBB: SDEV) ("SDI") a defense technology Company specializing in the creation of less than lethal ammunition solutions, announced today that over the past months there has been increased interest and activity by the US department of Defense related to wireless electric ammunition.

In late March 2008, the Joint-Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate, the US Department of Defense organization responsible for development and coordination of joint service non-lethal activities within the Department, hosted a briefing on the newest, innovative non-lethal technology.

SDI was invited to present a briefing on their LEKTROX Wireless Electric Projectile. The audience consisted of key individuals and decision makers in the non-lethal arena, representing the US Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Air Force. The presentation was well received, resulting in positive comments from the audience and decisions by the Army and Air Force to pursue future testing to determine the capabilities and operational effectiveness of the LEKTROX projectile.

Planning for future testing is being conducted and coordinated by relevant participants and SDI.

Recently, The Marine Corps, the lead Service in non-lethal systems development, sponsored a Congressional Display. The event was attended by approximately 250 representatives from the US Congress. The LEKTROX system prototype stimulated many questions from the attendees and seemed to be of high interest from the crowd of attendees.
