SDI Provides an Update on Corporate Developments & Status of Operations

WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/24/12 -- Security Devices International Inc. (OTCBB: SDEV) ("SDI" or "The Company") is a defense technology company specializing in the development of innovative, next generation non-lethal ammunition. SDI is currently in the market-entry stage of deploying their family of non-lethal ammunition to global militaries, law enforcement and correctional service agencies.

Capital Markets Progress:

SDI is preparing to file on a recognized Canadian Stock Exchange in order to accommodate their shareholder base, growth strategy and upcoming milestones. The Company is in the process of appointing a global dealer/broker, to lead the listing.

Global Distribution:

Pursuant to the Company's January 10, 2012 press release, indicating the signing of a five-year teaming agreement with a large defense technology Company, SDI is proud to announce the placement of their Blunt Impact Projectile (40MM) into the partner's official 2012 defense technology product catalogue. This corporation provides SDI a global sales reach.

Manufacturing Partnership:

SDI has selected a world-class injection molding company to facilitate the production of their entire family of 40MM non-lethal ammunition rounds. The injection molding company has a history of manufacturing 40mm components for the military sector. This U.S. based company provides molding services to the Medical, Aerospace, Petrochemical, Commercial, Electronics, and Defense industries. SDI has signed a five-year development, supply and manufacturing agreement with the injection-molding company. The size and experience of this group has well positioned SDI with the ability to fulfill large-scale purchase orders in a short period of time.

Tradeshow & Live-Fire Demonstrations:

As a result of SDI's participation at the CANSEC (Canada's foremost defense and security technology tradeshow) 2012 Tradeshow in June, a live-fire demonstration has taken place for multiple law enforcement agencies as well as the Canadian military. The outcome of this success, has added additional live-fire demonstrations to the Company's schedule, for key procurement decision-makers, that will take place in the coming quarter.

The Company attended the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) Tradeshow in Seattle, Washington, in September 2012. From this Tradeshow, SDI has secured live-fire demonstrations for law enforcement/correctional agencies ranging from the U.S Pacific North-West to Western Canada. The NTOA is a culmination of SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics) teams from across the United States, comprised of specially selected, trained and equipped personnel to resolve high-risk incidents.

Comprehensive Product Line:

SDI has completed the development and put into production, the Blunt Impact Projectile (BIP), and is currently in the advanced stages of developing derivative BIP rounds that are capable of carrying various payloads. The Company has branded its family of Blunt Impact Projectiles for marketing purposes. The name given to the line of products is StriKER (Superior Kinetic Energy Round). Using the Company's patented technologies, the StriKER was designed for high operational effectiveness at distances of up to 260 feet (80 meters), while still enhancing target safety, if engaged from a close range of 5 meters. The various ammunition rounds derived from the original StriKER include:

StriKER MK (Temporary Powder Based Marking Agent) - This derivative of the original StriKER, serves a dual purpose. Not only is pain compliance achieved, but the temporary marking ability of this round allows for evidentiary based confirmation.

StriKER ML (Semi-Permanent Liquid Marking Agent) - Not only is pain compliance achieved but the semi-permanent marking ability of this round allows for future apprehension.

StriKER OC (Oleoresin Capsicum - Pepper Spray Liquid) - Also a derivative of the original StriKER, this highly effective round is multi-faceted due to its irritant payload. Upon impact the pepper spray liquid is dispersed in a concentrated area either on or around the target. This specially formulated liquid acts as an irritant to the eyes and mouth thus dispersing crowds in a more effective manner. As part of safety protocol, the StriKER OC's specially formulated pepper spray liquid dissipates over a small geographical area in order to not affect innocent bystanders.

StriKER SC (Pungent odour Liquid) - This highly noxious round is focused on pain compliance and delivering a terrible odor. Not only can the scent be used for immediate identification purposes, but is also a key deterrent for targets to remain in a demonstration/riot area.

StriKER PR (Practice Round) - Used as a simulation round for training purposes, this round was created to simulate the ballistics of the original StriKER. This particular round allows end-users to become certified at a lower cost than using the standard StriKER round during training. The cost of the Practice Round will be approximately one-third of the standard StriKER.

Lektrox: Wireless Electric Projectile - The WEP is an electrically charged round that upon impact with the target deploys a charge that creates a Neuro-Muscular incapacitation in the subject. The rounds have been specifically designed for use with standard issue 40mm Launchers at a range up to 164 feet (50m).
