Security Devices International Delivers Rounds to the Military for Testing

MOUNT VERNON, VIRGINIA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 08/20/09 -- Security Devices International ("SDI" or the "Company") (OTCBB: SDEV) is pleased to announce the final delivery of 40 mm LEKTROX Neuro-Muscular Incapacitation rounds to the United States Military's Joint Non-lethal Weapons Directorate ("JNLWD") for their final stage of testing and evaluation.

The results of testing will be combined with data developed under extensive testing submitted to the US Government by SDI, the successful results of which resulted in the funding for the Government certification testing. Upon successful completion of the testing, the results will be reviewed by the U.S. Military JNLWD and members of the United States Military Services for use in making ammunition procurement decisions.

The initial round of testing commenced in December 2008 and evaluated the effectiveness and safety of the electrical output compared to the Government standard total body effects model.

The final phase of testing will consist of firing the projectile to determine its suitability, effectiveness, accuracy, safety and consistent effects against targets.

It is estimated that the final test report will be presented to the JNWLD within the next sixty days.

Colonel William Lacey Jr. (US Army ret.) of SDI, is working closely with the JNLWD to ensure they are supplied with the necessary information to complete the required testing.

The Company is pleased that the testing and evaluation phase is nearing completion and look forward to moving ahead with the United States Military and into commercialization.

Aside from the U.S. Military, SDI has seen an increased interest in their product by a number of other Militaries and Government agencies around the globe.
