Security Devices Announces Third Party Human Effects Testing Results

WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/11/12 -- Security Devices International Inc. (SDI) (OTCBB: SDEV) is pleased to announce that based on preliminary data derived from a third party evaluation, the Blunt Impact Projectile 40mm (BIP40) has passed the Critical Research & Training Less-Lethal's (CRT) testing protocol. The stringent level of testing conducted by CRT of Seattle, Washington, consisted of ballistics accuracy and consistency, relative safety, wound profiling, and overall effectiveness.

Human volunteers were used during the test firing, revealing full effects to the lower body from the blunt trauma of the BIP40. Extensive Wound Profiling will be completed over the next 30 days and presented along with a complete report to SDI of all testing performed.

"These preliminary results confirm what we have anticipated in terms of accuracy, effectiveness and safety as it relates to the BIP40 less than lethal round", stated Gregory Sullivan, President of Security Devices International. "Our modern technology and patented collapsible round has been well received thus far and we look forward to having the complete report in hand".

Founded in 2003, CRT Less-Lethal recognized the need to bridge the gap between law enforcement operators, administrators, medical personnel and scientists within the forensic community. The results combined with CRT's extensive field experience are used for expert witness casework and creating less-lethal training programs for agencies all over the world.
